CTI Maldives has just wrapped up an electrifying session on “Leadership” at the LaamaseeluLaamu Women Development Committee (WDC) Seminar 2024, held on September 17-18 in the vibrant setting of L. Fonadhoo. This exciting initiative, led by the Laamu Atoll Council, aimed to ignite passion and commitment among women leaders across the atoll. With an impressive turnout, the seminar turned into a lively hub of ideas and inspiration, setting the stage for impactful leadership development.
The session was masterfully led by Ahmed Nawaz Rasheed, the Chief Operations Officer of CTI Maldives. With his engaging style and wealth of knowledge, Coach Nawaz brought to life the essence of effective leadership. He kicked off the session by diving into the question, “What makes a leader?” Participants were encouraged to reflect on their own journeys and recognize the leader within themselves. His energetic approach helped attendees not only understand leadership principles but also embrace their unique qualities as leaders in their communities.
Throughout the session, participants explored vital topics such as self-discipline, the pivotal role of women in leadership, and strategies for managing conflicts. Coach Nawaz emphasized that self-discipline is the cornerstone of effective leadership, urging attendees to cultivate it as a powerful tool in their personal and professional lives. The discussions around women in leadership sparked enthusiastic conversations, highlighting the need for more female representation in decision-making roles, and how to navigate challenges uniquely faced by women leaders.
The event brought together a diverse group of attendees, including representatives from the Laamu Atoll Council, Laamu Fonadhoo Council, and numerous WDCs from across the atoll, including Maavah, Dhanbidhoo, and Isdhoo and others. This rich tapestry of perspectives created a vibrant atmosphere where experiences were shared, and innovative ideas were born. The sense of camaraderie and collective purpose was palpable, as everyone rallied around the mission of empowering women leaders in their communities.
