Shad began his journey in Atmosphere in 2019 and stayed until 2022. He then took an 8-year hiatus and explored areas in finance at Maldivian Airways and Purchasing and Distribution Manager at IBM. Afterwards, he rejoined Atmosphere when he saw that the grass was greener at Atmosphere.
The journey in Atmosphere Kanifushi Maldives has been amazing for Shaad. Even during the pandemic, which was a difficult time for the whole world, Shaad worked by himself in HR throughout the pandemic. He stayed on the island for 1 year and 3 months without going to his native island, Male’. This is undoubtedly a challenge to anyone, but in his words, “that was the most fascinating 4 months in Hospitality, because at the end we all survived and we are back.”
The epidemic gifted Shaad a new passion. Shaad has been DJing for his colleagues ever since, and to this day he entertains his colleagues with his skills. DJing is busy with a series of requests from Hindi, English and Tamil, but Shaad loves to have music as a way to bond with colleagues.
Shaad finds inspiration in his mother. One piece of advice from his mother he deeply took to heart is: “Whatever you do, make sure you do it right.”
