Abdul Latheef Hassan Discusses his Substantial Expertise in the Field of Tourism as a Butler.

Abdul Latheef Hassan is an exceptional butler who entered the tourism industry in 2006. Since then, he has honed his skills and demonstrated his talents in various renowned resorts in the Maldives, such as Gili Lankanfushi Maldives, Soneva Fushi by Six Senses, and The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli. With a wealth of experience, he currently serves as a Jadugar, or personal butler, in the stunningly beautiful island of JOALI Maldives. Not only is he highly proficient in his role as a butler, but Abdul Latheef Hassan also distinguished himself as a remarkable student. In fact, he was awarded the title of Best All-Rounder Student of the year 2001 at Dhaalu Atoll School.

During our discussion with Abdul Latheef Hassan, we inquired about the concept of achieving work-life balance. He strongly emphasized that being a butler entails a highly significant and time-intensive role. According to him, one must strive for perfection in all aspects of their duties. Consequently, he stressed the necessity of maintaining a high level of discipline in terms of work ethics and accountability. He recommended that being punctual and displaying empathy can greatly contribute to achieving a harmonious work-life balance.

Abdul Latheef Hassain was further questioned about his approach to handling a hectic schedule, to which he revealed that he rises early each day. At the very least, he strives to wake up by 04:30 and commence his morning routine starting with prayer, followed by a minimum 10km run prior to beginning his work. According to him, this ritual provides him with the necessary energy to tackle the day’s tasks.

In summary, Abdul Latheef offers advice to the younger generation, emphasizing that integrity and perseverance are crucial in becoming a successful butler. He also recommends maintaining a positive attitude, even in challenging circumstances, and being supportive to colleagues whenever possible. According to him, these actions will eventually benefit individuals when they require assistance themselves. Most importantly, Latheef highlights the importance of not discriminating against anyone, whether they are guests or colleagues. He advises treating everyone with equal respect and kindness, assuring that by doing so, everything else will fall into place rightly so.
