Hassan Shareef, commonly known as Sharie undertook a noteworthy endeavor in the human resources department of the dynamic and expansive tourism industry. He commenced a sum of 16-year tenure as a coordinator culminating up to his current role as the Director of Talent & Culture, which proved to be an unprecedented odyssey replete with challenges, growth, and lasting memories.

Sharie commenced employment with Universal Enterprises Pvt Ltd in 2007 as the Human Resources Coordinator at Kurumba Maldives, the inaugural resort to be established in the Maldives. He convey his profound appreciation to the entire Universal Enterprises company for trusting him and opening the industry door for him.

Through the decade of his service at Universal, he expressed his sincerely appreciation for the numerous exceptional opportunities the organization bestowed upon him, including the chance to complete his education in HR and Travel, Tourism, and Hospitality Management, which was his foundation to advance professionally.

Sharie have filled the position of Asst. HR Manager at Kurumba Maldives in the year 2014 and moved to the position of HR Manager at Huvafen Fushi Maldives in the year 2017. Prior to joining JA Resort & Hotels, he held the position of Director of HR at Amilla Maldives Resort & Residences for a year plus.

At present, he is currently holding the position of Director of Talent & Culture at JA Manafaru, JA Resorts & Hotels.

Although the HR function is often unappreciated, he have always regarded it as the backbone of any organization, its absence being far more profoundly felt than its presence.

Sharie opted to pursue a career in human resources for motives that extend far beyond the field itself. He firmly believe that the significance of individuals’ contributions to the organization’s success is the rationale behind HR’s existence and, by extension, his own.

As an HR professional, his responsibilities extend beyond influencing workforce-driving strategies that affect profitability; Sharie is also tasked with fostering positive human relations within the organization that positively affect employee productivity and, ultimately, the achievement of the organization’s goals.

Although the majority of us embark on this voyage for these reasons, much is frequently lost in its transactional monotony. In light of this, his most important piece of advice for individuals considering a career in HR is to reflect upon the following: “Why am I in HR?”
