Nestled within the stunning Lhaviyani Atoll in the Maldives, lies the captivating and enchanting Kanifushi Island. Despite the resort’s exceptional beauty, the assistant human resource manager, Abdulla Mutheeu, acknowledges that they are facing a challenge due to the shortage of local employees. He states that one of the downsides for the resort is the scarcity of skilled locals and the difficulty in hiring suitable candidates for vacant positions. When asked about the possible reasons behind this issue, he points out the age of the resort and the potential competition from recently established resorts that offer more contemporary amenities and working conditions. He further explains that the younger generation seeks recreational activities during their leisure time outside of work. Furthermore, he expressed that the resort’s Management and owners are diligently working to provide top-notch recreational amenities for the staff, emphasizing the introduction of a newly inaugurated Turf Futsal Pitch. He further mentions that the resort’s distance from Male’ is another contributing factor, as most resort employees prefer working in resorts closer to the capital city.
